Affinity 现已免费——有什么猫腻？

Years ago, I moved away from Adobe because I started to feel like the a boiling frog with the subscription model. I’d used the Adobe Suite since 1998 and it was painful to leave tools I knew inside out. I eventually settled on the Affinity suite, and since around 2015 it’s been more than good enough.<p>I balked at the paid upgrade to v2.0 and <i>sighed</i> when they were acquired. But a few days ago, I discovered that Affinity is now free and has apparently been rolled into a single tool. I’ve just tried it, and I have to say it’s impressive (on my aging MacBook Air M1).<p>I’m old enough to remember the saying, “If you’re not paying, you’re the product…” so what am I missing here? This is an excellent tool being given away... what’s the strategy? Where’s the catch?
