哈尔克岛看起来像个“猴子陷阱”。占领它会浪费金钱和人员。而且变数太多了。
不如摧毁它或使其部分失效，使其失去作用。最坏的情况是将其夷为平地。
好处：无人员伤亡，不浪费金钱，并有一个固定的、明确的时间表，预算成本有限（每六个月在炼油厂上空投一颗巨型炸弹）。
所以，为什么不这么做呢？

Kharg Island looks like a "monkey trap". It would be a waste of money & men to occupy it. Also too many contingencies.<p>Instead destroy it or disable parts of it and render it useless. At worst burn it to the ground.<p>Gains: no troop losses, no waste of money, and a fixed definitive schedule with limited budgetary cost (1 blockbuster atop the refinery every 6 months).<p>So why not do that?
