I've seen (and had) many conversations about how web browsers are ubiquitous, and I'm familiar with the engineering aspects of those conversations. But I was recently struck by how I don't understand the <i>monetary</i> aspect. Any good material / data on how the most widely-used web browsers is supported monetarily?<p>There is information available via Google search, but I'm curious what the HN crowd thinks. Besides, maybe it's just me at the end of 2025 but I'm starting to get paranoid about info on the web being accurate about the monetary foundations of the web... if that makes sense.
