I've been a long-time lurker here and have always appreciated HN for its interesting tech discussions. BUT, I'm noticing a pattern in recent AI/LLM coding threads that concerns me.<p>In almost every AI-related post, there's a good number of comments from newer accounts that describe AI tools with uncritical enthusiasm. They seem like propaganda-ish bots that are all over Reddit programming subs. I know "AI labs" thrive on this type of post and comment, but this seems a bit too much, honestly.
I'm not saying LLMs aren't useful for coding, but they're not magical in any sense.<p>A few questions for the community:
Are you seeing similar patterns?
Do you think this is somewhat avoidable in some way or the hype just have to tear off?<p>Maybe I'm overthinking it. But I'm curious about others' opinions on maintaining discussion quality around this topic, it's starting to be strange.
